Blaise and I drove about 40 minutes outside Rochester to Hemlock in Livingston County. On our drive he commented that we are wayyyy out in the country (because we saw some tractors and corn fields). We turned by the barn with the smiley face into the property of one of our Scout's grandmother's. She has 60+ acres which are absolutely beautiful.
We camped with the Wolf Cub Scout Den. Eight boys and their parents came for the camp out. We ate dinner and went on a hike where we saw a skunk who luckily ran the other way, a frog, a turtle and birds. The boys put together skits that they performed around the campfire and then enjoyed some s'mores. We were brave Scouts as we camped in our tents with the wind howling and the temperature in the morning was a high of 36 degrees! Blaise and I stayed nice and warm though because we shared a sleeping bag; nothing like a little body heat.
In the morning, the boys fed the horse and took a ride on the gator around the property. Amazing property, great time, fun watching the boys just be boys . . . and then back into the warm car (ahhh).
