thanks and solitude
My sister-in-law Cathy called Monday morning while we were at the cottage and asked if she could take the boys to lunch and a few errands. What a wonderful surprise! I used the time to get in some exercise or more importantly time for myself. I went paddle-boarding for two hours.
I started from the bay in front of the cottage, went past the channel (which goes out to Lake Ontario) and went to the very tip of Charles Point. I passed only a handful of boats during my excursion. It was absolutely wonderful - time to myself, time in nature, time for a great workout. I really feel blessed that I was afforded this opportunity.
I must say that I want so badly to include a photo of my paddle but of course I could not take a camera with me. So instead picture this . . . the sun hidden behind the clouds resulted in the sky being darker blue in hue provided a silhouette of the island (Eagle Island) I paddled by. A family of swans swam in a single file line; 2 white (mom and dad) and 6 or 7 gray/tan children (I can't call them babies anymore since this is the 3rd summer we've seen them and they are getting to be fairly big). If you looked just a certain way the swans silhouettes swimming in the water with the island silhouetted behind was breathtaking. I love it when I see a 'photo' right in front of me but really missed having a camera to catch this moment; instead enjoying it in 'real' time.
