strawberries

Chase Farms in Fairport is the traditional spot where we pick strawberries each summer.  The signs for photos, the tractor ride, the tasting while picking (although we didn't indulge this year - too many slugs!!!) and the pure satisfaction of picking delicious strawberries.

Then jam making and freezing to enjoy for months to come!  All around a successful trip . . . check out the last photo, my how time flies!

last day of school

Dressed to impress for Godspeed on the last day of school.  Sending off the 6th graders, quick change and enjoy some fun time with friends before leaving to start summer.  Another year in the books.

silly posing

When you are a second grader and you've just completed field day, what is most important?  Getting lunch from the hot dog cart and 'posing' very silly for mom.

I could barely take a photo because they were moving around so much.  I caught Blaise's incredible smile but he is definitely not crystal clear (but it is hard to get a photo of this always moving around boy).  Funny, how I am so particular with each photo and would normally delete it but since I only took so many I held onto it . . . now I actually like it.

new principal

There is good news and bad news.  The bad news, our current principal Mary Szlosek is leaving Seton to take a wonderful opportunity for her . . .she will be the middle school principal at Mercy.  The good news, our beloved Mrs. Selig is coming back to Seton!!!!!  We first met her in preschool as she was the head of the preschool department.  Then both boys had her as their first grade teacher.  Now she will be our new principal next school year!

We had a meet and greet at the school the other night complete with Bruster's ice cream, YUM!

godspell

It started with a movie shown after school and next thing you know Ambrose is on stage as part of the cast of Godspell.  This was his first time in a large production.  Memorizing lines, helping behind the scenes move props and furniture, singing on stage and most importantly being very excited to go to each practice!  What an amazing opportunity . . .can't wait for next year.

concerts

Guitar and ukulele concerts with their teacher Mr. Morey.  The Pink Panther theme song, the Final Countdown and more songs.  Blaise's first concert in front of his class went off without a hitch, nerves were abundant as I saw his legs bouncing up and down but that didn't stop him from delivering a concert with finesse.  Ambrose, an old pro when it comes to concerts announced his songs and played with ease.  Now, if I could just get some of those songs out of my head . . .

nine minutes and 32 seconds

Spinning round and round, drop, pick up and try it again.  I remember as a kid trying to get the rhythm down.  And then it happened, it clicked and I could do it for hours (well, that's 'kid' hours).

Tonight it happened again, but this time it was Ambrose.  And his record was nine minute and 32 seconds.  Pretty impressive, right?

I know you are wondering what I'm talking about .  .   .

hula hooping.  What a simple pleasure to figure out.  To see the smile on his face when he couldn't believe his time.  Precious.
