camping to Taughannock Falls

Friends and family gathered.
Others in pop-ups and us in tents.
Setup our site and visit with friends.
Squirt gun parties that never end.

Grill, cook over a fire, careful do not let those marshmallows go.
Hike on paths, hike through water,
pass tadpoles, sticks and sites to behold.
At the end, waterfall.

Ladderball, shooting the breeze,
reading, napping, yes please.

Upper, middle and lower Taughannock Falls,
Cayuga Nature Center where there is a six foot tall tree house,
State Park, playground,
so many, many things around.

Already waiting for our next camping spree
just please do not let it rain on me!

beautiful weather

One hates to complain about the weather especially when we had such a mild winter.  But due to the unseasonably warm weather the Lilac Festival wasn't as 'showy' this year.  In fact, the lilacs were mainly gone as well as the tulips.  I just had to reminisce through photos from previous years.  Instead of natural beauty we watched the boys enjoy a show, ride the train and run around at the festival.

The beautiful weather continued throughout the weekend.  We enjoyed watching this stylish guy play ball.
And we took in a ball game at Frontier Field.  We enjoyed a shady spot behind home plate which leant itself well to watch all the pop flies (we didn't catch any though, maybe next time).

Father and son at the game.  Any doubt they are related?

Or these two?

Mother's Day

Going to church with my two handsome boys,
seeing them read together,
planting some flowers,
receiving flowers and cards and handmade gifts,
spending time with grandparents,
eating a delish homemade dinner,
what a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day!

family time

Precious time.
Family time.
Getting attention, having their attention,
you can hear 'Grandpa throw to me'.
'Grandma did you see that throw'?
'Dixie go get the ball'.
And doing it again and again.

Grandpa, I think you are too big for my bike.

summery look

Drab, one color, lacking space; our kitchen when we first moved in.  After gutting, designing, decorating; a beautiful, functional kitchen.  Almost 10 years later, I got a small itch to change something.  Sticking with the blue and white motif . . .

. . .just added some summery looking curtains.
Amazing what one little change will do!

elijah's first communion

We traveled to Dearborn, MI for the weekend.

Cousins playing . . .

Attending Elijah's first communion . . .

Enjoying cousins . . .

Trip to Greenfield Village, pulled the bell for noon (now we are grease monkeys) . . .

Thanks Grandma for coming along, to the Jorgensen's for the fun accommodations (loved sleeping in the pop up camper) and most of all visiting!

outdoors

Beauty is all around us.
The boys will go outside in the morning and delicately touch a tulip and pronounce its color . . .
red, light pink, yellow, bright orange or purple.
They noticed this morning that the carnations are almost out.
We've also been counting how many iris buds there are, the count is up to 50.
So many feasts for the eye to behold, do enjoy!
