chase farms

For years we've been picking strawberries at Chase Farms.  We used to pick with Grandma Weidmann and then make jam.  I liked it when she was very precise in measuring (I on the other hand just kinda of fudge it, but she always would say you have to measure precisely for jam or it won't work).  This year we picked strawberries and raspberries and will do some baking and just plain eating.

letchworth

The Grand Canyon of the East, Letchworth State Park.  The Walkers and us went to be awed by the beauty.  The lower falls, middle falls and the upper falls (only from a distance since the trail is under construction).  Hiking, watching birds soar, amazed by a rainbow after a small sprinkle and much more.  Beauty like no other carved out in a previous time taken in with good friends.

lion king jr

Rehearsals since February twice a week, songs playing in the house, tunes being hummed . . . all led up to this week.  Tech week with late night practices and 4 performance of Lion King Jr.  Blaise was a zebra and Ambrose an elephant.  Great job boys!

pack camp out

Ambrose's last Cub Scout camp out was this weekend at Camp Cutler in the castle.  They made tunics and decorated goblets, played jump the moat game and jousted.  He was a 'Boy Scout' in the fact he got to sleep in a tent versus the pods.  He helped build a fire, say grace and lead different activities.  We were blessed with beautiful weather and hanging out with wonderful friends.

memorial day

Newtown Battlefield State Park in Elmira, NY was where we camped overnight for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend.  The campground lent it self to 'make up your own games' at the playground, beautiful hikes, sitting around the campfire and just relaxing.  In the state park we saw replica Iroquis cabins.

We ventured to a Nature Center, downtown Corning and took in Glass Fest and the Rockwell Museum which is full of western art.  A great time with friends and family!
