powers farm market

Every fall the boys ask to go to Powers Farm Market.  They run around trying to figure out which pumpkin is the one to take home.  You know something like . . .I found it, oh wait maybe (cross to the complete other side of the area of pumpkins) maybe this one . . . and so on and so on.  Then the choice of which donut - pumpkin, glazed and so many more choices.  Can we eat them now?

But the most talked about is the Powers Farm Market tractor ride through Witch Hollow.  They narrate the entire ride and tell you what is going to happen before you get there and exclaim at almost every point 'this is my favorite'.  And finally, walking through the humongous teepee adorned in jack-o-lanterns.  Simple, delightful . . a wonderful fall tradition.

powers farm market

Fall . . . leaves changing, pumpkins, apples and Powers Farm Market.  It is a must according to the boys.  We pick out pumpkins, feed and pet the animals, walk through the teepees and go on the haunted hayride.  Simplistic but a tradition that they look forward to everyone year.

 how about this one?  um, a little green  . . . .

you know they are getting bigger when the food in their hand is eaten and not just tossed because they are afraid of the animal . . .

 the haunted hayride!

powers farm market

Columbus Day and half of Rochester headed to Powers Farm Market.  We didn't do the hayride today due to all the people (save that for another day) but we picked out pumpkins, ate donuts, fed the animals and went through the tee pees . .. a fall ritual.

The shouting across the way, "I think I found the perfect pumpkin over here, no wait this is the perfect pumpkin", etc. etc.  In helping choose just the right pumpkin we had some extra help, Grandma and Grandpa.  We've been enjoying them visiting and can't believe that they will head back to sunny SC soon (maybe we should jump in the car and go too).

powers farm market

Powers Farm Market is a fall favorite.  A haunted hay ride, walking through the spooky teepees, feeding animals, picking pumpkins and eating donuts!  Grandma and Grandpa were in town to share in the delights.
