cub scout adventure camp

I woke up sad today realizing that I was home and not still at Cub Scout Adventure camp.  The chants, the songs, the skits . . . all the fun with friends in the outdoors; there really isn't anything better.

Archery, shooting sports, gaga ball, swimming, boating, nature, village activities and more!  Blaise and I were in the Fort this year with Sheriff Baby Beard and Deputy Peaches.   We survived the heat and the thundering rain and I even ran in a mud run.  We can't wait for next year!

construction at the cottage

Our cottage in Sodus Point will look quite different shortly.  So far we've had a new metal roof put on.  22 new windows put in . . . see the 'open air' or before pictures below.  And soon will be siding.  More to come!

strawberries

Chase Farms in Fairport is the traditional spot where we pick strawberries each summer.  The signs for photos, the tractor ride, the tasting while picking (although we didn't indulge this year - too many slugs!!!) and the pure satisfaction of picking delicious strawberries.

Then jam making and freezing to enjoy for months to come!  All around a successful trip . . . check out the last photo, my how time flies!

last day of school

Dressed to impress for Godspeed on the last day of school.  Sending off the 6th graders, quick change and enjoy some fun time with friends before leaving to start summer.  Another year in the books.

silly posing

When you are a second grader and you've just completed field day, what is most important?  Getting lunch from the hot dog cart and 'posing' very silly for mom.

I could barely take a photo because they were moving around so much.  I caught Blaise's incredible smile but he is definitely not crystal clear (but it is hard to get a photo of this always moving around boy).  Funny, how I am so particular with each photo and would normally delete it but since I only took so many I held onto it . . . now I actually like it.

new principal

There is good news and bad news.  The bad news, our current principal Mary Szlosek is leaving Seton to take a wonderful opportunity for her . . .she will be the middle school principal at Mercy.  The good news, our beloved Mrs. Selig is coming back to Seton!!!!!  We first met her in preschool as she was the head of the preschool department.  Then both boys had her as their first grade teacher.  Now she will be our new principal next school year!

We had a meet and greet at the school the other night complete with Bruster's ice cream, YUM!
