Yeehaw! This cowgirl took that good looking cowboy to the BLAST (school fundraiser). My hat I've had since college as I used to do some country line dancing. My shirt, suede pants and Damian's vest all came from Goodwill, love a deal! My pants were talked about all night and everyone had to 'feel' the suede. You can't tell from the photo but there is trim going down the side, very fancy. Food, wine and beer tastings, silent and live auction . . . all for a good cause.

tv visit
Channel 8 - WROC TV had a big surprise today! 11 Tiger Cub Scouts came for a visit. My Tiger Cub Den met Maureen McGuire, Kevin Doran, Scott Hesko and more reporters who tell us what the news is every day. They 'played' weather man in front of the green screen and watched the live report of the 5 o'clock news.

spring break fun
The boys and I enjoyed a few days in South Carolina over spring break. We helped transplant some plants and ground cover. And I painted all the shutters (up on an extension ladder) on my parents house. The boys stamped cards with grandma and made wood projects with grandpa (what a deal for me, I enjoyed a couple of good books).
We enjoyed the weather (a high one day of 82 degrees) by spending time playing basketball, scooting around the driveway and even helping grandpa fry a turkey for dinner one day.
Some of the best time was spent with cousins building with blocks and throwing a parachute guy down from the second floor.
Time together . . the best way to spend spring break!

Inventor, artist, scientist, engineer, sculptor, anatomist, musician, architect, philosopher – Leonardo da Vinci. We took in an exhibit of this genius at RMSC. Absolutely amazing! The boys enjoyed the hands on part where their hands turned his inventions.
Electricity Theater and viewing Tesla's coils at work cued to music along with light optics. A great way to start spring break . . . now if it would just warm up!

invention convention
The boys participated in the Monroe County's Invention Convention. Blaise tested friction by having matchbox cars go down a ramp unto different surfaces (rug, glass, sandpaper, vinyl and glass). The rug you may have guessed was the slowest and the fastest was glass. If only roadways were made of glass, right?
Ambrose tested recycled office materials (plastic, aluminum and shredded paper) to see which is the best insulator. The shredded paper won. He provided statistics and data and then proposed an idea using the paper to make insulation to 'green' office buildings. He won the Committee Member's Favorite Invention Award.

time in sc
Time for a visit, when mom gets a new hip. Or maybe it was just a break that I needed from all the snow. It was to check in, help out and visit.
I'm in awe of how well my mom is moving around after her surgery; recovery seems to be going very well. I helped my dad weed (did I mention how much I enjoyed digging in the dirt and that it wasn't shoveling snow!!!), clean a bit and cooked a bunch. Sometimes I think it would be fabulous to have a job where you just cook for other people (I don't mean owning a restaurant and working those crazy hours but maybe have a few clients and cook for them . .personal chef. Who knows maybe I should go to culinary school one day).
One of the best parts of the visit though is I saw two of my nephews, Sam and Ben. Sam just turned 5, wow 5! Where did the time go? We enjoyed some train and game time at Grandma and Grandpas. And I even saw their new house, which is beautiful! So the only question, when can I go back to visit and to that lovely weather . . . .
