cousin time this weekend

February break is here, which means some cousins came to visit.  We hung out with Isabella, Sebastian, Uncle Andy and Grandma at Brantling on Saturday.  The kids took a lesson together and had so much fun skiing together (in fact so much fun they went until they couldn't go anymore . . . well, they may not have admitted that but it was fairly obvious).

On Sunday we spent time at Grandma's house and visited with the Weidmann's and the Bindig's.  It was very cold outside so in order to reign in the running we played a fun game on Monopoly.  I think Ambrose is hooked, he wants to play again.

And now onto the rest of February break week . . . . .

field trip

The first graders sang at the Mother House today.  They introduced themselves to the residents, spent some time chatting and handed them a handmade Valentine.  Then they sang the cutest songs ever!  You can see Ambrose in the middle.

5!

4 lbs. 7 oz., 6 weeks early.
21 days before coming home from the hospital.
And now Blaise is 5!

I'm not sure where the time went but my little guy is growing up fast!  He is my constantly running around (he doesn't walk instead he either skips, hops or runs).  He is enjoying hockey (theme this year) and skiing this winter.  Blaise loves to put together puzzles, read to me and be read too.  There really is nothing better then when he slows down for a couple of seconds to cuddle with him.

Today as we were going to school to help out in the library he said 'I can't wait to go to Kindergarten'.  Well, I'm glad one of us is ready.

winner of a weekend!

Nemo arrived and provided an abudance of snow to look at, marvel at and play in.  The boys finished up ski camp by each racing down the 'big' hill.  Ambrose all the way from the top did an outstanding job.  And Blaise (our little speed demon) took gold in his age group for fastest time down the hill.

Later that night, Ambrose participated in his first Pinewood Derby.  He placed 3rd for his Tiger Cub group and received a special award for 'most patriotic/best use of Scout theme'.

anything better?

Before going to ski camp (donned in their long undies) sitting reading a book together.  I just love how Ambrose reads to Blaise.  Blaise is starting to read to his big brother and Ambrose plays the 'mommy' and helps to sound out.  So cute.  Can they possible stay this adorable forever?

school ski night

Since the beginning of the year the boys have been participating in a ski camp every Saturday at Brantling.  Ambrose is a very controlled skier; telling me at the bottom of the hill how many turns he made.  Blaise started in Cubs (the youngest/beginner level) and last week moved up to Bears.  He is what you would refer to as a 'Cowabunga' skier  . . . straight down the hill, turns aren't normally in the equation.

Last Friday we attended a school ski night at Hunt Hollow.  It was our first time at HH and the boys really enjoyed the chair lift (first time on for both of them as they are used to j-bars and t-bars).
