sports 'mode'

This weekend gave me a chance to try out a lens (borrowed from a neighbor) for my new camera. From across the rink I was able to capture Ambrose passing the 'puck' (softball).

And the boys always like posing for mommy. Ambrose sporting Daddy's gloves and Blaise wearing his brothers.
From inside the house I caught Damian raising up the training wheels as high as they will go on Ambrose's bike. Pretty soon . . . no training wheels!

boys will be boys

Tickle tackle.
A favorite game when Daddy arrives at home.
Giggling, giggling . . . 'stop, please stop'.
'No tickle me again'.
Simple, fun.

egg hunt season

Ssshhhh, don't tell. I put the plastic eggs away today. I know, no more egg hiding.

The boys have gone to numerous egg hunts - while visiting Grandma and Grandpa, at our play group and at church. The Easter Bunny also came to our house! I'm hoping that the end of egg season means good weather is here to stay! ?

Saturday morning

What isn't to love about Saturday? Family time. Pancakes (well, the boys might be most excited about the pancakes). Then over to the Y for sports time. What a great gig the Y has - classes to introduce Ambrose to all different sports. So far he has experienced soccer, baseball, basketball, floor hockey and now flag football. Blaise tags along and wants to play too . . . Ambrose open your eyes!
Running, running and smiling the whole time!

spring has sprung?

It doesn't feel like spring as I look out to gray, wintry day. Alas, look inside and we are 'creating' spring. Through numerous paintings, drawings, growing (more on that later) and inside Ambrose's preschool classroom - chicks hatching (8 total so far).

What an exciting adventure for him to watch! Ambrose comes home each day and gives us an update on what is happening with the chicks. First it was turning the egg, then shining a light to see the air sac, then counting down the days til peck, peck, CRACK . . .CHICKS!!!!! He even made his own incubator and eggs to 'hatch' at home. This consisted of a tray with packing peanuts to symbolize the eggs and when one hatched he wrote on it. Too cute!

jumping in

Snow was flying today again in Rochester. Hard to believe or maybe not. I do remember seeing snow one Mother's Day here. Yikes! The dismal weather outside has not dampened the spirit of anticipation of summer. The boys have been busy swimming inside with serious anticipation for outside time. Ambrose has perfected the 'art' of not getting his hair wet. He is able to 'lifeguard' jump into the pool. He can swim pretty well without a bubble but isn't quite ready to give it up yet. Blaise on the other hand loves to jump in and as he says 'I go all the way under'. He is working on blowing bubbles. The boys could emulate Froggy - 'bubble, bubble, toot, toot' for Blaise and 'chicken, airplane, soldier' for Ambrose (just working on the elementary backstroke).

Bonsai. . .
And mommy is in anticipation of summer (or just warm weather already) . . . my model is showing off my handmade beach bag (made from place mats).
